1999 U.S. Open: One Moment In Time

In 1999, Payne Stewart, one of the most exciting golfers of the time, won his second U.S Open and third major championship. The tournament was held at the Pinehurst Resort, where Stewart beat Phil Mickelson by a mere stroke.

Sadly, Stewart was not able to defend his title come the next year because of a fatal incident aboard a chartered Learjet 35. After an oxygen malfunction, the plane flew unmanned for hours until eventually beginning its descent. The plane crashed in an open field located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Ross Greenburg Productions has produced a documentary that celebrates Payne Stewartʼs accomplishments as a professional golfer and serves as a commemoration to a life cut short.
